Landscape with Cattle

Attributed to Philipp Peter Roos (1657-1705)

Philipp Peter Roos was known to paint cattle in lifelike detail. Depicted in the background are old landmarks such as an old castle. His backgrounds are painted very high in detail. It is believed this is an original painting by Roos who was known as Rosa di Tivoli and shows strong influences of his father, Johann Heinrich Roos.
