- The mission of the John Paul II Library is to provide
comprehensive and well-balanced access to the print, electronic, and other non-print
records needed by the Franciscan University of Steubenville for the successful pursuit of
academic programs.

- The Library is committed to providing excellent service and
meeting the highest expectations of its users, as well as preparing students and faculty
for lifelong learning by developing their skills in the full and effective use of library
resources. It also is committed to meeting local community demand on a limited basis as
funding allows.

- The Library is responsible for investigating new information
resources, in consultation with faculty and administration, and for assuring the
connectivity necessary for global access outside its walls. It also seeks the useful
techniques and technology to meet needs and improve services.
