Searching Tips for Drama
Go to Find Articles by Subject-on campus access. Choose Art, Literature, Drama and Music and then select a database.
Databases with a green bar that say EBSCO can be limited to only full text and/or scholarly articles. The MLA database can be limited to journal articles only-please use this limit if you are looking for an article.
The keyword performance (on a separate line, not next to any other term) will help you find reviews of a performance of Hamlet, for instance.
If you need a particular journal, go to find articles by title of journal. This feature allows you to link to database holdings of a journal or discover that the journal is not available full text through JPII.
Begin a search by keeping it simple! If you try nesting, stacking or combining several terms, you may end up with no positive results for your search. However, if you begin with one keyword, you may find many good results or you may be lead to a better search term that you had not thought of before you began to use the databases. Remember to use synonyms for your term!
A limit will always reduce the number of results but may save time
Journals may be owned by our library, but be in three different locations:
First floor-current journals section--alphabetic by title of journal-recent copies - remember to check the bins! (lift up the shelf)
Second floor-by call number-use the catalog for holdings details.
Storage-must be requested-24 hour turn around Monday to Friday- use the c atalog for holdings details.
Always check to see if John Paul II Library owns a book. If not--or if our copy is checked out--you may borrow from OhioLINK. Note--if you cannot find a book on our shelf and it is noted in the catalog as being available-please ask for assistance.
OhioLINK requires you to use your barcode--the long number on the back of your ID card. Omit any letters. If you receive an error message, please check with the circulation desk.
Both ILL books and articles come to the circulation desk, in your name.
Be sure to ask the person at the desk to check both books and articles
when you are expecting something.
